The Oklahoma County commissioners are facing a decision on Monday regarding the acquisition of a contentious property on East Grand Boulevard for the development of a mental health facility. Originally intending to build a new county jail alongside the mental health facility, their plans were blocked by City Councilors who denied zoning in May. Despite this setback, the commissioners are determined to move forward with the construction of the mental health facility, especially with $50 million in federal COVID funding at stake. The commissioners will convene at 9 a.m. to deliberate on the best course of action moving forward.
