Oklahoma State has received a commitment from McKinney (Texas) three-star defensive tackle Jordan Covington after his official visit in Stillwater. Covington chose the Cowboys over offers from Kansas, Michigan State, Missouri, Cincinnati, and others. Despite being offered by Oklahoma State just recently on May 3, Covington quickly became a favorite after his visit over the weekend.

Covington expressed his decision was easy due to the welcoming atmosphere created by the coaching staff and players at Oklahoma State. He felt a strong connection with the team and was impressed by the support and love shown to him during his visit. Covington also mentioned his familiarity with some players on the Cowboys’ roster, including Jonathan Agumadu, who played a key role in McKinney’s defense and is now at Oklahoma State.

At 6-foot-3, 255 pounds, Covington has the potential to excel as a defensive end or potentially move inside to defensive tackle with added weight. The coaching staff at Oklahoma State sees him as versatile and capable of playing multiple positions on the defensive line. Covington credits players like Agumadu and Landyn Cleveland, both DFW-based athletes on the Cowboys’ roster, for their role in recruiting him to Oklahoma State.
