Las Vegas is well-known for hosting major sporting events, world-class entertainment, and conventions. Later this month, an upcoming conference will bring all three elements together to further elevate the city and provide UNLV students with valuable opportunities for professional growth.
Jay Vickers, the COO of UNLV’s Sports Innovation and Entertainment conference, stated that Las Vegas has become a hub for sports, entertainment, and city leadership over the past decade. This growth has inspired the creation of the SEI Con, or Sports, Entertainment Innovation Conference, which will take place from July 15th to 17th in Las Vegas.
Vickers emphasized that Las Vegas is the ideal location for an event like SEI Con, as it is a hotspot for cutting-edge innovation in the sports and entertainment industries. The conference will bring together industry speakers and thought leaders to foster collaboration and potentially lead to new business opportunities.
UNLV and Syracuse University have partnered to offer students the chance to gain hands-on experience in organizing a major event like SEI Con. This collaborative effort between academia and industry professionals aims to provide students with valuable educational and networking opportunities.
Following the inaugural SEI Con conference in Las Vegas, similar events will be held in cities like New York, Washington, and London. However, the main event will remain in Las Vegas every summer, allowing the city to not only enhance its brand but also contribute to the global growth of the sports and entertainment industry.
