Ontex Group, a global developer and manufacturer of personal care products, has introduced its innovative Stop&Lock Anti-Leak technology in baby care. This new technology includes front and back barriers in newborn and mini sizes of baby diapers produced for retailer partners. The Stop&Lock Anti-Leak technology has already been successfully implemented in selected baby diapers in North America and is set to launch at a major European retailer in June.
In addition to leg barriers, the Stop&Lock Anti-Leak technology provides 360-degree leakage protection to prevent ‘poo explosions,’ a common issue with newborns who are breastfed or formula-fed. This not only enhances baby comfort but also alleviates parental concerns about major leaks, which has been identified as an important consumer motivator through research.
A 2024 panel test conducted in Europe revealed that 20% of parents surveyed expressed concern about significant diaper leaks, with many stating that leaks disrupt outings, as well as their baby’s sleep and playtime. In response to these concerns, the front and back barriers of the Ontex Stop&Lock Anti-Leak technology offer four-side leak protection from both urine and liquid stool. This feature is designed to reduce the frequency of complete outfit changes due to leakage incidents.
