The problems began at 0:21 am Pacific time on June 4, with the company working to solve the issue by 4:45 am Pacific time. However, the problems resurfaced later, rendering the service unusable for millions of users worldwide. Requests for information from the chatbot resulted in a message stating, “We are experiencing exceptionally high demand. Try again later.”
OpenAI has provided limited information on the matter, posting a message at 7:33 am Pacific Time indicating that they are investigating the issue. The company confirmed that they have resolved the problem affecting their ChatGPT service and subsequent tests by the newspaper corroborate the situation.
OpenAI released a statement on their website acknowledging the outage, stating that it affected all users and services related to ChatGPT plans. The incident began at 2:15 pm GMT on June 4 and was resolved by 5:01 pm GMT.
