Recruiting in the world of college sports can be tricky, especially with the rise of the transfer portal and players switching teams frequently. Oregon women’s basketball has faced its share of challenges in recent years, but they hope to turn things around with the hiring of Jerise Freeman as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. Freeman comes to Oregon from Utah, where she held the same position, and head coach Kelly Graves is thrilled to have her on board.

Graves praised Freeman’s energy and track record in recruiting and coaching, noting her success at Power 5 programs. Freeman is excited to join the Ducks, calling it a dream come true. She is eager to work with Graves and the rest of the staff and is looking forward to contributing to the program’s success. Freeman, a native of Wichita, Kan., had a successful college playing career at Seward County Community College and Pacific (Calif.), where she earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology with a focus in criminal justice in 2007.

The addition of Freeman to the Oregon women’s basketball program has generated excitement among fans and followers. The team is looking forward to seeing how Freeman’s expertise and energy will help in recruiting talented players and achieving success on the court. With Freeman on board, the Ducks are hoping to build a strong foundation for the future and continue to be a force in women’s college basketball.
