Overchuk: Armenia seen as Russia’s ally

During a conversation with journalists, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk emphasized Moscow’s viewpoint of Yerevan as an ally. He highlighted the growing economic cooperation between the two countries, stating that trade turnover has reached 7.3 billion dollars and has doubled compared to the previous year. Overchuk pointed out that Armenia is actively involved in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), further solidifying their partnership with Russia.

Overchuk’s remarks underscored the importance of Armenia as a strategic ally for Moscow. He noted the significant progress in economic relations between the two countries, indicating a positive trend in their trade turnover. The Russian Deputy Prime Minister also commended Armenia’s active participation in the EAEU, emphasizing the cooperative nature of their collaboration within the union.

According to the Russian TASS agency, Overchuk’s comments were made in response to questions regarding Armenia’s participation in a NATO summit. By reaffirming Armenia’s status as a key ally and highlighting the strength of their economic ties, Moscow continues to demonstrate its strong support for Yerevan. The growing economic cooperation between Russia and Armenia serves as a testament to the close partnership and mutual benefits that both countries derive from their alliance.
