“Ownership of Behavioral Health Facility on Kandiyohi County Board Agenda for Discussion” – West Central Tribune

The Kandiyohi County Board will hear updates and presentations on various issues at its upcoming meeting. The board is scheduled to meet at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2 in the board chambers at the Kandiyohi County Health and Human Services building in Willmar.

One of the topics for discussion is the potential transfer to state ownership of the 16-bed, adult behavioral health facility that the county built in 2008 on Olena Avenue Southeast in Willmar and leased to the state. The final lease payment was made in 2018, and the transfer would streamline operations for both parties. Updates will also be given by Safe Avenues, the region’s provider of shelter and advocacy for victims of domestic or sexual violence, and by the Primacy Strategy Group, which is seeking federal funding opportunities for various county projects. The board will also consider adopting the proposed 10-year Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan, which outlines solid waste programs.

Additionally, a memorandum of agreement with nonprofit Children’s Dental Services to provide dental care for children from low-income families will be discussed. The board will consider a resolution to vacate a portion of Brower Avenue right-of-way along the north shore of Green Lake, as well as bids for grading and surfacing County Road 104 near Diamond Lake Park and for line painting on Kandiyohi County highways. The full meeting agenda can be viewed online at kcmn.civicweb.net.
