The president of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmud Abbas, expressed his gratitude to the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, for Spain’s unwavering support of the Palestinian cause. Abbas appreciated Spain’s firm stance in advocating for a just peace and stability in the region, especially in light of the ongoing aggression by the Israeli occupation forces. He specifically thanked Spain for its repeated calls for an immediate ceasefire and for providing unrestricted humanitarian aid to alleviate the dire situation of the Palestinian people.
Abbas also acknowledged and praised Spain’s efforts to recognize the independent State of Palestine and implement a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine to coexist peacefully. He described Spain as a friendly country and expressed his full confidence in Sánchez’s ability to make decisions that would facilitate peace and stability in the region. Abbas extended his wishes for peace and prosperity to Spain, King Felipe VI, the Government, and the Spanish people in a letter collected by the official Palestinian news agency Wafa.
