According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Panthers have decided to sign UFL receiver Daewood Davis. Davis had an impressive season with the Memphis Showboats, earning All-UFL honors with 41 receptions for 446 yards and five touchdowns on 70 targets in just 10 games this spring. He previously played for Oregon from 2017-2020 and Western Kentucky in 2021-2022, but unfortunately went undrafted in 2023. However, the Dolphins took notice and signed him as a college free agent.

During a preseason game against the Jaguars in August, Davis suffered head and neck injuries that resulted in him being taken to the hospital. The game was suspended following his injury, and the Dolphins ultimately decided to waive him from training camp. Despite this setback, Davis has now become the first UFL player to sign with an NFL team, serving as a testament to his talent and perseverance in the face of adversity. The Panthers will be eager to see what Davis can bring to their team and how he can make an impact on the field this upcoming season.
