Despite initially winning the first three games of the series, the Panthers faced a tough challenge as they lost the next three games. They needed a win in Game 7 to avoid becoming one of the few teams in NHL history to lose the final after taking a 3-0 lead. Fortunately, they were able to secure the victory and claim the championship.
In other sports news, New York Mets closer Edwin Díaz was suspended for 10 games by Major League Baseball after being ejected from a game against the Chicago Cubs for having a foreign substance on his hand.
