The swimming pool at Parker Park Community Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas is now open to the public. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Friday, June 14 at 1 p.m. to celebrate the opening of the pool. The pool features a splash pad, waterslide, diving board, basketball goal, and a jacuzzi in the center for parents to relax in while watching their kids swim.

Nine-year-old Sebastian Roblero, who lives close to the pool, expressed his excitement about the opening. He mentioned how easy it will be for him to walk over and enjoy the pool regularly. The pool will be open every day from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The entry fee is six dollars for adults (16+) and four dollars for kids 15 years old and younger. Children under 15 must be accompanied by someone 18 or older.

Jonesboro resident Nichole Reynolds and her two children also attended the opening day and expressed their excitement about spending weekends at the pool. Reynolds mentioned her hope for season passes to be available for frequent swimmers. Mayor Harold Copenhaver announced that a second HAWK light will be installed on Church Street near the community center in the near future.
