Pat Cummins produced an impressive hat-trick during Australia’s T20 World Cup Super Eight clash against Bangladesh in Antigua. He took the wickets of Mahmudullah, Mahedi Hasan, and Towhid Hridoy in consecutive deliveries over two overs, helping to restrict Bangladesh to 140-8 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound. Cummins finished with figures of 3-29 off four overs, while spinner Adam Zampa also contributed with 2-24.

This hat-trick made Cummins only the second Australian and seventh overall to achieve this feat in the history of the T20 World Cup. Mitchell Starc also made a significant impact by becoming the most prolific bowler in the history of white-ball cricket with his 95th World Cup wicket. Starc’s early breakthrough set the tone for Australia’s bowlers, who kept Bangladesh on the back foot throughout the innings.

Despite a more aggressive approach from Bangladesh’s batsmen, Australia’s bowlers maintained control, with notable performances from Josh Hazlewood and Glenn Maxwell in addition to Cummins and Zampa. Cummins’ hat-trick, combined with disciplined bowling from the rest of the team, limited Bangladesh to a target of 141 for Australia to win the match.
