The Palomar Health Medical Group recently experienced a cyberattack that compromised sensitive patient information including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, medical history, and prescription information. This unauthorized access occurred from April 23 to May 5, leading to potential data copy and loss of certain files as stated by the InnoVision Marketing Group.

Since the attack, patients have faced challenges in accessing prescription refills or booking doctor appointments, while physicians have experienced limited access to patient records. Phone lines and computer systems remain disrupted, impacting day-to-day operations. Patients like Patricia Ryan were unaware of the compromised information until Team 10 notified them. The list of potentially compromised information also includes disability and diagnostic information, health insurance details, emails, credit and debit card numbers, PINs, and passwords.

In response to the cyberattack, Palomar stated its commitment to confidentiality, privacy, and security of patient information. The organization initiated an investigation, notified law enforcement, and took measures to secure its network environment. Patients are advised to remain vigilant against identity theft and fraud, reviewing bank and credit card statements for any suspicious activity. For questions or concerns related to the incident, customers can contact Palomar Health Medical Group at 888-829-5736 during business hours.
