Penn State, led by James Franklin and his staff, continues to rack up wins on the recruiting front. After a slow start to their official visit season in terms of commitments, the Nittany Lions have seen a surge in top targets committing to the program. With some key players already in the fold, Penn State is poised to secure a spot among the top classes nationally when the 2025 class rankings are finalized.

One player who will bolster their recruiting class is Max Granville, a four-star edge rusher and linebacker from Texas. At 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, Granville was highly coveted by Penn State and chose the Nittany Lions over other top programs like Texas A&M and Oklahoma. Despite initially facing tough competition from these schools, Granville’s positive feelings towards Penn State’s program and coaching staff ultimately led to his commitment.

During an official visit in late May, Granville was impressed by what Penn State had to offer. Despite having additional visits planned to Texas A&M and Oklahoma, the Nittany Lions managed to secure a commitment from the No. 167 player in the 2025 class. Granville’s father, who played for the Cincinnati Bengals, played a key role in his recruitment and was impressed by what Penn State had to offer. Ultimately, it was Granville’s mother who played a significant role in his decision, with Penn State leaving a strong impression on the 2025 recruit and his family.

With Granville now committed, Penn State has landed their 18th recruit in the class, solidifying their standing in the recruiting rankings. Stay updated on Penn State football news by following Nittany Lions Wire on X, Facebook, and Threads.
