PFF still critical of Giants’ offensive line despite offseason improvements

The New York Giants had one of the worst offensive lines in football last season, allowing 85 sacks due to a combination of injuries and underperforming players. Evan Neal, John Michael Schmitz, and Andrew Thomas all struggled to live up to expectations, contributing to the line’s overall poor performance.

In an effort to improve the offensive line, general manager Joe Schoen made it a priority during free agency, adding Jon Runyan Jr., Jermaine Eluemunor, Matt Nelson, Austin Schlottmann, and Aaron Stinnie to the mix. Despite these additions, Pro Football Focus still ranks the Giants’ offensive line as one of the worst in the league.

The team is hoping that the new additions, particularly Eluemunor and Runyan, will help bolster the line. However, the success of the line still largely depends on players like Neal, who may be on their last chance to prove themselves at their position.

With the upcoming season approaching, the Giants are aiming for a significant improvement on the offensive line compared to their struggles in 2023. Despite their efforts, the team still faces challenges in solidifying their line for the upcoming season.
