The Marathon fundraiser for the learning center took place at Keith Hills Golf Course, where Campbell University Professional Golf Management students played more than 100 holes of golf on April 25. The event aimed to raise money for new technology in the on-campus learning center, and the students, along with Program Director Gabriella Story, successfully raised over $15,000 during the marathon.

Prior to the event, students raised money and collected pledges for the number of holes they could play, as well as for birdies, eagles, and hole-in-ones. Starting at 7:30 a.m., the students played for 12 hours straight, with some groups even completing 130 holes. While no aces were achieved, there were many birdies and eagles throughout the day.

Connor Woods, a junior and vice president of the PGM Student Association, was the primary organizer of the event. He was inspired to bring back the golf marathon after participating in it during his freshman year. The fundraiser aimed not only to enhance the current learning experience in the Campbell PGM Program but also to improve it for future PGM students. The funds raised by the students will have a lasting impact on the program.

One of the students, senior Sydney Higgins, raised the most funds in excess of $3,000. Higgins emphasized the importance of enhancing the program for current and future students, acknowledging the support she received from others in reaching her fundraising goal. Through this experience, she learned the value of reaching out for support on her journey to becoming a PGA Golf Professional.
