Airbus, an aircraft manufacturer, has entered into a preliminary agreement to supply 152 aircraft to Cebu Pacific Air, a Philippine carrier. This order is valued at $24 billion (€22.4 billion) at list prices, although discounts are expected. This deal represents the largest aircraft order in the history of the Philippines. Specifically, Cebu Pacific Air will be ordering 102 A321neo aircraft with an option for an additional 50 units. The A321neo is one of Airbus’ best-selling aircraft models, and the order backlog is significant.

Cebu Pacific Air is a major player in the Philippines with a fleet size of around 85 Airbus aircraft and several smaller propeller planes. Airbus has expressed gratitude to Cebu Pacific Air for their continued trust in their products and looks forward to finalizing the contract in the third quarter. This partnership solidifies the relationship between the two companies and emphasizes the importance of the Philippine aviation market for Airbus’ business strategy.

The agreement between Airbus and Cebu Pacific Air marks a significant milestone in the aviation industry, showcasing the growing demand for commercial aircraft in the region. As the deal progresses, both companies will work closely to ensure successful delivery and operation of the new aircraft. This collaboration underscores the importance of strong partnerships between aircraft manufacturers and airlines to meet the growing needs of the global aviation market.
