Photos from the archives: Boy Scouts at a science fair

Here is a set of photos taken 50 years ago during this week in May of 1974 as part of our ongoing work to digitize our film archives. The photos include images of children showing their work at a science fair. One girl has won fourth place and another seems to have won first place, as she is holding up a commemorative plaque with children’s names from previous years.

What were science fairs like in Franklin County in the 70s? Did you take home any prizes? We would love to hear your stories. Boy Scouts from Georgia are seen constructing a miniature log house, while other people look out of a building’s window at what they are doing. In other photos, a scout can be seen making silly faces and even sticking his tongue out.
