Owen Cuffe led the San Rafael Pacifics to a 5-0 road win against the Vallejo Seaweed with a no-hitter on Thursday night. Cuffe, who had 17 relief appearances at Saint Mary’s, threw 132 pitches in nine innings, striking out 14 hitters and only walking two.
Cuffe’s earned-run average dropped to 1.46 as the Pacifics got all the run support they needed in the first inning with four runs. Mark Hernandez, John Bicos, and Braxton King had run-scoring singles in the inning. San Rafael added another run in the second inning with Cuffe scoring on a double by Hernandez.
