CHICAGO (WLS) — Quite a few pop-ups near 71st and Jeffrey are offering South Shore residents one factor new.
The neighborhood that was struggling when the retail anchor left is getting one factor new: a pop-up enterprise with a vacant South Shore storefront.
“It has been vacant for a while, so it’s good to see all of it getting used,” said resident Bria Walker. “I’m thrilled.”
Play Sea Retailer South Shore will formally open on Saturday, January 14th. His three outlets on 71st Street, merely west of Jeffrey, now host free play areas, art work galleries, and artisan markets.
Damon Smith, Program Supervisor, South Shore Chamber of Commerce, said: “We had been able to refurbish to some extent and produce out the perfect.”
Artist Elizabeth Hutton designed a play space with art work and STEM actions for youngsters from Brown Books & Paintbrush. On Friday she was ending up the market house.
