Modi specifically commended outgoing head coach Rahul Dravid, captain Rohit Sharma, and star batsman Virat Kohli for their roles in clinching the T20 World Cup. Both Sharma and Kohli announced their retirement from T20 internationals following the win. Modi praised Sharma for his aggressive mindset, batting, and captaincy that has elevated the Indian team’s performance. He also lauded Kohli for anchoring the Indian batting splendidly, noting his contributions to all forms of the game.
