India is set to face South Africa in the T20 World Cup final in Bridgetown, Barbados, with rain likely to be a factor at the Kensington Oval. The semi-final matches were affected by rain, with India defeating England in a rain-hit match and South Africa defeating Afghanistan in their clash at Trinidad. The ICC has a reserve day allotted for the final in case the match cannot be completed on Saturday, with both teams scheduled to play on Sunday if necessary.

Bridgetown experienced heavy rain on the eve of the match, and while the Barbados Meteorological Service had warned of a potential tropical storm on match day, the weather forecast suggests some improvement. The playing outfield will be inspected by umpires before the toss time to determine if the match can proceed as scheduled. The second semi-final between India and England also faced delays due to rain, but a full match was eventually completed after a few interruptions in Guyana.

According to ICC’s Playing Conditions, every effort will be made to complete the match on the scheduled day with necessary reductions in overs if needed. A minimum of 10 overs per side must be completed for a result. If the match begins but cannot be completed due to rain, it will resume from the same point on the reserve day. The rain percentage could rise up to 51% during the T20 World Cup final, so teams will need to be prepared for weather disruptions during the highly anticipated match.
