A local business in Minot, ND is currently hosting a three-month drive to support Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports this summer. Prairie Grit not only offers adaptive sports but also provides various therapies for minors with disabilities. In June, Aspire Credit Union collected a wide range of foods for the organization’s feeding therapy program. This month, the focus is on items used for occupational therapy, with a list available on Aspire’s website outlining the specific items needed in this category.

Rianne Kuhn, the marketing and communications coordinator at Aspire, highlighted the importance of batteries as a key need for Prairie Grit. Many therapy equipment pieces require batteries, and the organization goes through a significant amount of AA and AAA batteries. In August, the drive will shift gears to collecting items for speech therapy, but food items are still being accepted for donation.

Both Aspire and Prairie Grit are accepting monetary donations to support their programs. This collaborative effort aims to provide essential resources for children with disabilities to receive the therapeutic support they need. Copyright 2024 KFYR. All rights reserved.
