The Statesboro Lady Blue Devil tennis team had a successful season, finishing with a record of 20-6 and reaching the state 5-A quarterfinals. One of the standout players on the team was the doubles pair of Lindsay Collins and Annalisa Small, who dominated the competition with a remarkable 21-1 overall record. Coach Brian Hall praised Small for her hard work and coachable attitude, which contributed to her significant improvement on the court. Small’s positive attitude and dedication to practice have made her a key player on the team.

Small’s journey in tennis began in sixth grade after watching her older brother play the sport. Initially hesitant, she quickly fell in love with the game while playing on the middle school team. Her passion and dedication to the sport led her to become an integral part of the high school team, with aspirations of going even further in future seasons. Small expressed her enjoyment of playing second doubles this season and is optimistic about the team’s potential for next year. She is looking forward to her senior year playing for the SHS tennis team and is excited for the opportunities ahead.
