A note from former President Donald Trump’s doctor was released on Monday, assuring the public that Trump is in “excellent” health and that his cognitive exams were “exceptional.” The letter is from Dr. Bruce Aronwald, Trump’s personal physician since 2021. This comes after Trump has recently made verbal slips that brought his age into question.

Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida said that the presidency is “not a job for somebody that is pushing 80” as he contrasted his relative youth to Trump’s age of 77. According to the letter by Aronwald, Trump’s cardiovascular studies are normal, cancer screening tests were negative, and he has reduced his weight. However, the letter lacks specifics such as the types of tests Trump took or their results.

In 2015, Trump’s campaign released a similar letter written by Dr. Harold Bornstein that contained broad statements about Trump’s health and a statement that Trump would be the healthiest individual elected to the presidency. Bornstein later said that Trump dictated the letter.

During his tenure in the White House, Trump’s health was also praised by Dr. Ronny Jackson, the then-presidential physician. Jackson, now a congressman and strong supporter of Trump, spoke highly of the then-president’s health.

Dr. Bruce Aronwald, who donated to Chris Christie’s 2015 presidential campaign, has been Trump’s personal physician since 2021. He released a note that was praised as a high compliment. In the note, Mr. Trump’s condition and mental state are outlined in ways that few have observed.
