Sign up now for the FREE Diabetes Prevention Programs offered by DOH-Orange in partnership with the University of Florida / IFAS Extension Orange County office. These programs are available in both virtual and in-person classes. Take control of your health and join this research-based lifestyle change program designed to help prevent diabetes. To qualify for the program, you must be 18 years or older and meet certain criteria such as having an A1C between 5.7 – 6.4 and/or fasting glucose levels of 100-125mg/dl. Other qualifications include a family history of diabetes, a history of gestational diabetes, obesity with a BMI greater than or equal to 25, and completion of the CDC Prediabetes Risk Test with a participating team member.
The program details include group coaching sessions led by a Certified Health Education Specialist, a Certified Diabetic Education Care Specialist, and trained lifestyle coaches. Sessions will be held weekly from July 18 to October 31, 2024, bi-weekly from November 14 to January 16, 2025, and monthly from February 13 to June 12, 2025.
