Preventing Meta from using your Instagram and Facebook data to train AI

Meta, the technology giant behind Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Threads, recently announced that starting June 26, it will begin using data from its social networks to train its Artificial Intelligence (AI). This change may not sit well with users who value their privacy, as it involves using private information such as photos or messages between users. To oppose this change, users can fill out a form on the platform to request that their information not be used to train Meta’s AI.

To access the form, users can navigate to their account settings within the social network platform. For example, in Instagram, users can go to their user profile, click on the menu button located at the top right, then navigate to Settings and activity. From there, they can find the Privacy Policy option, which allows them to object to Meta using their information to develop AI.

The form allows users to specify their country and email, provide reasons for objecting to the use of their information, and submit their request. After completing the form, users will receive an email confirmation with a code that needs to be entered in the app to finalize the process. This ensures that users have control over how their data is used and can protect their privacy on these social networking platforms.
