The Schubert Center for Child Studies at Case Western Reserve University is co-sponsoring a lecture with Pediatric Grand Rounds at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. The lecture is titled “Community-led Solutions for Promoting Positive Pregnancy and Infant Health Outcomes in Greater Cleveland: Normalizing Access and Utilization of Doulas within Health Systems.”

The talk will take place on Thursday, March 28 at 8 a.m. in the Amphitheater at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital (2101 Adelbert Road). Attendees can also join virtually, and more details can be found on the event website.

The event will feature speakers Angela Newman-White, Jazmin Long, and Heather Marie Rice. They are leaders in the effort to reduce infant mortality and improve maternal outcomes in the greater Cleveland area. They will provide updates on the work of First Year Cleveland, focusing on systems-driven solutions. The presentation will also discuss the benefits of doula services, which are now covered by Medicaid in Ohio, and the barriers to accessing these services.

The Schubert Center for Child Studies connects individuals from various backgrounds whose work impacts children, families, and young people. These events encourage dialogue and collaboration on child-related research, policy, and practice in Northeast Ohio. Coffee and bagels will be provided for in-person attendees.
