Depression and dependence are challenging topics to discuss, whether you are personally dealing with these issues or have a friend or family member who is concerned about them. Providence Swedish understands the difficulty of these conversations and has decided to sponsor a free community talk on behavioral health and addiction services. The event will take place at Providence Behavioral Health & Recovery in Lacey on October 17th at 5 p.m.

The presentation will be provided by medical professionals Dani Benavente, SUDP, CADC, Donna Putman, SUDP, LMHC, and Stephen Lykins, M.D. Dr. Lykins is particularly passionate about advocating for individuals facing substance abuse and mental health problems, as well as those who are worried about their loved ones. Attending this talk can be a valuable opportunity to gain insight and support.

The evening will begin with a meet-and-greet session at 5 and 5:30 p.m., allowing attendees to interact with Benavente, Putman, and Lykins in a relaxed atmosphere. From 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., the presentation will cover various topics, including the relationship between drug use and mental health, the concept of addiction as a disease, commonly abused drugs, other addictions such as tobacco and gambling, and the use of fentanyl and Narcan in treatment and recovery.

If you or someone you care about is struggling with addiction or mental health issues, Providence Swedish is committed to providing assistance. The first step is attending the community talk on October 17th. The event will be held at Providence Behavioral Health & Recovery, located at 4800 College Street SE in Lacey. This talk is proudly sponsored by Providence Swedish as part of their dedication to supporting the community.
