For the past 25 years, the Skytrax Awards have been recognized as the Oscars of the airline industry. This year’s winner was a close call, with Qatar Airways narrowly beating out last year’s champion, Singapore Airlines. Qatar Airways is a frequent recipient of the Skytrax Awards, solidifying its reputation as one of the best airlines in the world.

The rankings are determined by surveys conducted with over 21 million customers from 100 different countries. The competition was so tight this year that a recount was required to confirm the winner, according to Skytrax. Unfortunately, no U.S. carriers made it into the top 10, or even the top 20, highlighting the global competition in the airline industry.

Other notable airlines in the rankings include Dubai’s Emirates in third place, Japan’s ANA All Nippon Airways in fourth, and Hong Kong’s Cathay Pacific in fifth. Japan Airlines, Turkish Airlines, EVA Air, Air France, and Swiss International Airlines rounded out the top 10.

Cathay Pacific was recognized as the world’s cleanest airline, Singapore Airlines for best cabin crew, and Qatar Airways for best business class. Delta Air Lines took home the title of best airline in North America, as well as winning best airline staff service in the region. Alaska Airlines was named the ninth-best regional carrier in the world.

The world’s top 20 airlines, including Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, ANA All Nippon Airways, and Cathay Pacific, showcase the diverse range of top carriers in the industry. Each airline brings its own unique strengths and qualities to the table, making for a competitive and exciting landscape in the aviation industry.
