Apr 3, 2024

Quonset Business Park has achieved a significant milestone of surpassing 14,000 jobs, exceeding the 13,000 jobs it had just 15 months ago. Governor Dan McKee praised Quonset as a key player in economic activity and job growth in Rhode Island. Strategic investments in the Business Park have attracted new companies and fostered job creation for residents of the state.

The Quonset Development Corporation attributes the growth in jobs to upgrades and expansions at the Port of Davisville, which will help sustain 1,600 existing jobs. Additionally, plans are in place to invest in the expansion and upgrades at the Port of Davisville, as well as the installation of cable for a wind farm. This wind farm project is expected to generate hundreds of jobs in both Rhode Island and Connecticut.

House Speaker K. Joseph Shekarchi praised the leadership at Quonset Business Park for reaching the impressive milestone of 14,000 jobs. The House continues to support investments in the Port of Davisville to create more jobs while aiding Rhode Island in achieving its climate goals. Senate President Dominick Ruggerio also expressed support for the park and its growth to over 14,000 jobs, solidifying Quonset’s reputation as one of the top Business Parks in the nation.
