Rangers complete signing of Southampton striker Wilkinson

Rangers have secured the signing of striker Katie Wilkinson from Southampton on a two-year deal. The 29-year-old was the top scorer for Southampton last season, scoring 10 goals in 22 appearances. She was even nominated for the English Championship player of the season award.

This marks Rangers’ second signing from Southampton this summer, with defender Lauren Rafferty also joining the club. Wilkinson has had a successful career so far, having played for Birmingham City, Aston Villa, London Bees, Sheffield United, and Coventry before moving to Rangers.

Throughout her career, Wilkinson has scored an impressive 80 goals in 172 games. She made her WSL debut at the age of 17 and has been known for her goal-scoring prowess ever since.

Speaking to Rangers’ media, Wilkinson expressed her excitement about joining the club, highlighting the ambitious nature of the team. She is looking forward to contributing to the success of the club on the field.

Rangers’ head coach, Jo Potter, is thrilled to have Wilkinson on board, praising her as a player with great pedigree and a hunger to improve. Potter previously worked with Wilkinson at Coventry and is confident in her ability to make a significant impact at Rangers.
