OU athletic director Joe Castiglione recently discussed Brent Venables’ contract extension on Friday, June 21, 2024. The extension solidifies Venables’ position as the head football coach at OU.

In a recent ranking by EA Sports College Football 25, OU’s Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium was listed as the eighth toughest place to play in college football. The stadium ranked behind notable venues such as Texas A&M’s Kyle Field, Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium, and LSU’s Tiger Stadium.

The ranking takes into account historical statistics like home winning percentage, game attendance, team prestige, and more. The SEC, which OU is set to officially join on July 1, had the most teams ranked in the top 25, followed by the Big Ten.

Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, known as the “Palace on the Prairie,” has a seating capacity of 80,126 and will celebrate its 100th season in 2024. The stadium has a streak of 152 consecutive sellout games.

EA Sports College Football 25 is set to release on July 19 on next-gen consoles, providing fans with a chance to experience the excitement of college football in iconic venues like Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
