Recommendations Made at the Libya International Conference on Industry and Technology

The Libya International Conference on Industry and Technology took place in Tripoli and ended on May 21st with participants from various countries including Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan, Lebanon, China, Kuwait, and Iraq. The conference was attended by the Minister of Italian Companies and Industry as well as the Deputy Minister of Industry of Turkey.

The conference resulted in a number of recommendations aimed at improving the industrial sector in Libya. These recommendations highlighted the importance of government supervision, direction, and monitoring of economic activities, as well as the need to encourage both local and foreign investment in industrial projects. Additionally, there was an emphasis on developing technological capabilities, utilizing military infrastructure, and supporting the banking sector for financing industrial projects.

Other recommendations included focusing on protecting local products, promoting investment in food and petrochemical industries, and fostering international cooperation to benefit from leading industrial practices. Furthermore, there was a call for the development of laws and regulations to facilitate investment and technology transfer, as well as promoting innovation and entrepreneurship to address climate change.

The overarching goal of these recommendations is to strengthen the Libyan economy and achieve sustainable development by involving various key sectors in the country’s development process. The conference participants also highlighted the importance of holding workshops to implement the recommendations and ensure their successful implementation for the advancement of the industrial sector in Libya.
