Lincoln Riley has been focusing heavily on recruiting defensive players for his team in an effort to change the public’s perception of both the team and his coaching style. Despite his efforts, one of the Trojans’ major commitments, Isaiah Gibson, may be considering changing his destination.

On Monday, On3’s Steve Wiltfong changed his recruiting projection for the four-star EDGE rusher from Southern Cal to Georgia. Originally from Warner Robins, Georgia, Gibson committed to the Trojans in March. Considered one of the top EDGE rushers in the class of 2025, Gibson stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs 245 pounds. He dominated in sacks and hurries at Warner Robins High, recording 17 sacks and 55 hurries last season while causing havoc for opposing quarterbacks.

Aside from football, Gibson also plays basketball at his high school. He visited Georgia on May 31st and has visits planned to Ohio State and Auburn in the near future. Georgia already has one EDGE rusher committed in the class of 2025, Darren Ikinnagbon from New Jersey. The Dawgs have been engaged in recruiting battles with the Trojans, including flipping five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry in March after he had been committed to Georgia for two months.
