U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) hosted a Telephone Town Hall focused on women’s health issues with nearly a thousand North Jersey residents on June 25, 2024. During the call, Gottheimer discussed his significant work to make childcare more affordable by expanding the Child Tax Credit, protect reproductive freedom including IVF, and address America’s maternal health crisis. He also highlighted his successful campaign to stop New York’s Congestion Tax and save Jersey commuters money.

“It is always a privilege to connect with North Jersey residents and share more about my work in Washington to stand up for them. At our Telephone Town Hall, I highlighted my longstanding work on women’s health issues, which is especially timely in the wake of the Dobbs decision’s two-year anniversary,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “I will always stand up for Jersey women and families, whether it’s safeguarding reproductive freedom and IVF, working to make childcare more affordable, or developing comprehensive solutions to improve maternal health outcomes.”

Gottheimer was joined on the call by Temple Israel Rabbi David Fine, Bergen County Commissioner Tracy Zur, West Point Admissions Liaison Officer Kirsten Dickson, Deputy Director of Policy and Communications at Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey Sarah Best, and Chief Medical Officer at Hackensack University Medical Center Dr. Lisa Tank.

Overall, the Women’s Health Telephone Town Hall focused on important issues such as reproductive freedom, maternal health, affordable childcare, and more. Gottheimer and the panelists engaged with North Jersey residents in a meaningful discussion about how to address these pressing concerns and continue advocating for women and families across the region.
