Leading up to the draft, the Denver Broncos were contacted by several teams expressing interest in trading for wide receiver Courtland Sutton, according to ESPN. However, the Broncos ultimately decided not to trade Sutton and keep him on their roster.

One of the teams that reached out to Denver about Sutton was the Pittsburgh Steelers, as reported by Touchdown Wire’s Jarrett Bailey. Pittsburgh’s interest in Sutton makes sense, as he had a successful connection with Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson last season, recording 10 touchdown passes together.

Sutton is reportedly seeking a higher salary, wanting to earn $2-$3 million more per year than his current contract. He chose to skip the voluntary portion of the Broncos’ offseason program this spring, likely in response to his contract situation.

Despite Sutton’s absence from voluntary workouts, Denver has no plans to trade him. Sutton has confirmed that he will report for mandatory minicamp next week, indicating that he intends to continue playing for the Broncos.

With two years remaining on his contract, it seems unlikely that Sutton will be traded, as reported by Bailey. It appears that Sutton will remain in Denver for the foreseeable future, despite the trade rumors surrounding him.
