Negotiations are ongoing between FIFA and Real Madrid for the use of the newly-renovated Estadio Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid, Spain for the 2030 FIFA World Cup Final. A report from Spanish sports daily MARCA indicates that FIFA is seeking the stadium’s availability for a period of around three months, which is a significant request that Real Madrid is currently contemplating.
Despite concerns about the duration of FIFA’s occupancy, there seems to be a positive working relationship between the global football governing body and Real Madrid. This could potentially facilitate a deal for the Bernabéu to host the most prestigious match of the tournament – the World Cup Final.
While Spain will share hosting duties with Portugal, Morocco, and potentially Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, FIFA is keen on having the Santiago Bernabéu as the crown jewel of the tournament. The stadium’s iconic status could make it the perfect venue for the final showdown of the world’s biggest football event.
