Paul George has declined his option with the Clippers, making him a free agent and potentially opening the door for a move to the Sixers. Reports indicate that the Sixers are planning to aggressively pursue George, with the team seen as a legitimate threat to lure him away from Los Angeles.

George is reportedly planning to meet with several teams, including the Clippers, Sixers, and Magic, as free agency officially opens. The Warriors, who were rumored to be interested in George, are now out of the running due to salary cap constraints.

The Clippers beat writer Law Murray has reported that a source close to George believes he is unlikely to return to Los Angeles and is seriously considering leaving the team. With the Sixers’ focus on building a team with flexibility this summer, the addition of a player like George could significantly bolster their roster.

At 34 years old, George is coming off a strong season with the Clippers, averaging over 22 points per game and shooting over 41 percent from three-point range. His offensive skills and defensive capabilities could make him a valuable addition to the Sixers alongside stars like Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.

The Sixers have the ability to offer George a lucrative contract, with a maximum offer of four years and $212 million on the table. As the free agency period unfolds, it will be interesting to see if the Sixers can successfully lure George to Philadelphia and strengthen their title contending team.
