Another star player for the Cincinnati Bengals has reportedly requested a trade. Three-time Pro Bowl defensive end Trey Hendrickson has asked the Bengals to trade him, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Despite being under contract for two more years, Hendrickson is seeking more long-term security than the team has offered.
Hendrickson has a base salary of $14.8 million in 2024 and $15.8 million in 2025, but neither year includes any guaranteed money. The Bengals have reportedly informed Hendrickson that they do not plan to move him, despite his trade request. This comes after star wide receiver Tee Higgins also requested a trade as he looks for a long-term deal.
Hendrickson is coming off a career year where he recorded 17.5 sacks, the second-most in the NFL, along with 16 tackles for loss and 25 quarterback hits. In his three seasons with the Bengals, he has accumulated 39.5 sacks, 34 tackles for loss, and 76 quarterback hits in 48 games. Additionally, Hendrickson has earned three Pro Bowl selections during his time with the team.
