An Air India aircraft with call sign AIC24WC has been assigned to fly the T20 World champions India from Bridgetown in Barbados to New Delhi. The aircraft flew from New Jersey to Bridgetown, where the team will board the flight. The Indian media, which was in the Caribbean to cover the T20 World Cup, will also be on the same flight as a special arrangement made by the BCCI to get the stranded mediapersons back home.

Barbados experienced the effects of Hurricane ‘Beryl’, leading to flight cancellations and the temporary shutdown of the Grantley Adams International Airport. India emerged victorious in the T20 World Cup final at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, on June 29. The flight AIC24WC is expected to arrive in Barbados at approximately 2 am local time, with the team scheduled to depart at 4:30 am local time.

The flight from Barbados to Delhi is estimated to take around 16 hours, barring any additional delays. If everything goes according to plan, the team is anticipated to land in Delhi on Thursday at 6 am Indian Standard Time (IST). Originally, the team was supposed to depart from Barbados at 6 pm local time on July 2, with an arrival time of 7:45 pm (IST) on Wednesday, but due to weather disruptions, the schedule had to be revised.
