NuLiv Science, a plant-based nutraceutical ingredients company focused on promoting healthier lifestyles, recently conducted a study examining the effectiveness and safety of Verbasnol™ for treating moderate to severe acne in females. The study was published in the Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology medical journal and highlighted the potential of Verbasnol™, an extract derived from Rehmannia glutinosa Libosch leaves, in reducing acne severity. The study found that 80% of participants saw improvements in their acne condition while using Verbasnol™.
The two-month study specifically targeted adult women with poor Global Acne Grading Systems (GAGS) scores, which are commonly used in dermatology to assess acne severity. Participants were given either Verbasnol™ capsules or a placebo for 56 days. Results showed significant improvements in GAGS scores by day 28, with further enhancements observed by day 56, including improvements in complexion, luminosity, and overall skin quality.
The CEO of NuLiv Science, Richard Wang, emphasized the importance of the study’s findings in demonstrating the potential of incorporating Verbasnol™ into skincare formulations. He highlighted that the research data could be used by skincare and beauty brands to strengthen and differentiate their products in the market.
