After nearly six years in business, Burgers Grilled Right (BGR) has closed its Reston location, as confirmed by franchise owner Ralph Alexander Brower. The last burger was served at the RTC West location on June 15th, marking the end of an era for the popular national burger chain.

BGR has locations across various states including Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, and more. The closure of its Reston location came as a surprise to many loyal customers and staff members. The large BGR sign has already been taken down, and a note was posted on the window to inform patrons about the closure.

In the note, BGR expressed gratitude to customers for their support over the last 5 1/2 years and mentioned that their Springfield and Arlington locations are still open for business. While specific reasons for the closure were not provided, Brower hinted that it was a challenging area to operate a business, as mentioned in the note.

The property owner, JBG Smith, has not officially announced a new tenant for the space yet. However, the note on the window hinted at upcoming restaurant and retail concepts that are reviewing the available space. The note also encouraged people to keep an eye out for updates in late summer and early winter.

On a positive note, a new delicatessen and cafe called Kook Dogg is set to open next door to the former BGR location in the coming months. Originally scheduled for an April opening, the launch of Kook Dogg was delayed due to permitting issues.
