Results of the 2023 Challenge Tournament for World Team Trials

The 2023 World Team Trials Tournament is set to determine the final 17 slots for Final X, which will take place on June 10 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Champions from all three men’s freestyle, four women’s freestyle, and ten Greco-Roman divisions will advance to Final X.

The tournament is currently ongoing, and you can check out the quarterfinal results for the Greco-Roman division below. The matches include wrestlers from various wrestling clubs, such as Army (WCAP), Top Gun Wrestling Club, Rise RTC, Titan Mercury Wrestling Club (TMWC), and more.

In the 55-kilogram weight class, Jacob Cochran from Army (WCAP) defeated Tirso Lara from Top Gun Wrestling Club with a VSU1 of 11-2. Landon Miranda from Rise RTC also secured a VSU1 victory against Max Black from NMU-National Training Center with a score of 12-4.

Other notable matches include Alejandro Sancho from Army (WCAP) defeating Savion Haywood from Iguana Wrestling Club with a VSU1 of 11-2 in the 67-kilogram weight class. In the 87-kilogram weight class, Timothy Young from Illinois (Army WCAP) secured a VSU1 victory against Makaron Kukowski from Minnesota Storm with a score of 12-4.

The tournament is still ongoing, and fans can tune in to see who will secure their spot in Final X.
