The 2023 Vermont high school fall season is now underway, featuring various sports such as soccer, field hockey, golf, and volleyball. Here are the scores for Vermont High School Sports on Monday, September 10 and Tuesday, September 11. In field hockey, the Stowe team defeated Missisquoi 2-1, with goals from Gabby Dora and Elle Feinstein. On the Missisquoi side, Amelia Favreau scored a goal and Rowan Gregory provided an assist. Gabby Feinstein’s goal in the fourth quarter broke the tie and secured the win. Lyndon also won their match against St. Johnsbury 3-2 in overtime, thanks to goals from Taylor Ott, Sarah Tanner, and Adrian Bircher. Sophia Harche scored both goals for St. Johnsbury. Woodstock had a convincing 4-0 victory against Rutland, with goals from Hannah Gubbins, Claudia Shoemaker, and Marley Olmstead. U-32 also won their match against Spaulding 2-0, with goals from Hannah Drury and Chloe Pembroke.
In girls’ soccer, Mount Mansfield defeated Burr and Burton 2-0, with goals from Finley Barker and Grace Hodgdon. BFA-St. Albans also won their match against Missisquoi 2-1, with goals from Cadence Lafferty and Isabelle Montagne. Liliana Fournier scored the only goal for Missisquoi. Milton had a strong 6-1 victory over Enosburg, led by a hat-trick from Savannah Monaghan. Vergennes won their match against BFA-Fairfax 2-1 in overtime, thanks to goals from Eva Francis. Lake Region also won their match against Peoples 4-0, with goals from Madison Bowman, Avery Hansen, and Brooklyn Hinton. Essex had a commanding 4-0 victory against Rutland, with goals from Hazy Fry and Avaconte. The match between Rice and Burlington ended in a 1-1 draw, with goals from Reese Billings and Brooks Deshaw. U-32 narrowly defeated Mount Abraham 2-1, with goals from Maia Pasco. Richford had a big win over Danville, secured by four goals from Kyriel Deuso. Stowe also won their match against North Country 2-1.
In boys’ soccer, the Burlington vs. Winooski match was postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date. In boys’ volleyball, BFA-St. Albans won their match against Rice 3-0, while South Burlington defeated Mount Mansfield 3-1 and Burlington won against Champlain Valley 3-0.
Lastly, in men’s golf, the West Bolton CCM Medalists were announced, with Gavin LeTourneau from Mt. Mansfield leading the way with a score of 34. The team scores included Mt. Mansfield with 147 and Rice with 178. Champlain Valley had Cooper Guerriere as their medalist with a score of 36, leading their team to a score of 162. Other participating teams included Spalding, Middlebury, and BFA-St. Albans.
