Revised Estimates Reveal Modest Growth in Czech Economy

In the first quarter of 2024, the Czech economy experienced a slight 0.2% increase quarter-on-quarter, which was lower than the previously estimated 0.3%, according to the Czech Statistics Bureau. This revision indicates slower growth than expected, but there is still cautious optimism. Year-on-year, GDP rose by 0.3%, up from the initial estimate of 0.2%. Final consumption saw strong growth, with a 0.7% increase quarter-on-quarter and a 2.1% increase year-on-year. Household spending rose by 0.7% quarter-on-quarter, although the year-on-year growth was revised down to 1.5%. Government consumption also contributed to growth, increasing by 1.1% quarter-on-quarter and 3.5% year-on-year.
