The digital and technology director of German retailer REWE Group, Christoph Eltze, has had his contract extended to 2029. Eltze was appointed to the management board on 1 July 2022 and has been leading the digitalisation and technology efforts of the company. Previously, he was responsible for retail in Germany, overseeing digital, customer, analytics, and IT functions.
REWE Group CEO Lionel Souque praised Eltze for his commitment to driving forward the digital and technology division, which is crucial for the company’s business models. He highlighted Eltze’s role in creating innovative solutions, improving efficiency, and driving group-wide synergies in this strategically important area. Souque expressed gratitude to the supervisory board for their trust in the executive team.
The supervisory board chair, Erich Stockhausen, emphasized the rapid development of REWE Group in recent years, attributing it to numerous innovations that have enhanced existing business models and created new formats. Stockhausen highlighted Eltze’s role as a key driver of this development, which is being further strengthened by the decision to extend his contract. The board is confident in the successful track record and expertise of the executive team.
