Coaches in younger categories play an important role in the upbringing and development of children, instilling values such as fair play and sportsmanship. However, some coaches and parents do not always demonstrate appropriate behavior, setting a poor example for the children they are supposed to guide.
A recent basketball game between Metalac and Radničko cadets in the Interregional Basketball League ended in chaos after the coaches got into a heated argument, leading to disruptive and violent behavior among the players. The situation escalated to the point where a player was punched in the head, resulting in a minor concussion.
The unruly behavior extended to the parents, who also became involved in the altercation, further exacerbating the situation. Ultimately, the match had to be stopped, and the police had to intervene, launching an investigation into the incident. Both clubs now face the possibility of severe penalties as a result of the shameful scenes that unfolded during the game.
