Cone Health, Elon University’s medical service partner, has signed an agreement to join Risant Health — a nonprofit organization established by Kaiser Foundation Hospitals. Cone Health is a nonprofit healthcare network that serves approximately 200,000 patients across multiple counties in North Carolina, as detailed in a Cone Health press release.
The press release also emphasized that even after becoming part of Risant Health, Cone Health will maintain its brand, name, and mission. The organization will continue to operate with its own board, CEO, and leadership team. Dr. Mary Jo Cagle, CEO and President of Cone Health, assured customers that there will be no changes in the types of care provided as a result of this partnership.
Risant Health, led by Greg Adams, aims to enhance access to value-based care and coverage. Adams stated in a release that the organization is committed to moving away from fragmented, fee-for-service care towards a model focused on evidence, equity, population health, and improved outcomes. The integration of health systems like Cone Health and Geisinger will help advance this vision.
